Editorial team & testing process
Real people, real testing
AI Girl Guides is an independent 18+ directory. Every ranking here comes from a named person who has personally paid for the app, used it properly and written down what they found — never an algorithm, never a rewritten press kit. This page introduces that team and lays out, step by step, how a tool earns its score.
The masthead
Meet the team
A small, specialised crew. Each person owns the beat they know best and puts their name on it — so you always know who tested what.

Nadia Kovač
Editor-in-Chief & AI Companion Analyst
Nadia runs the newsroom at AI Girl Guides and has been testing AI companion and adult chat platforms since their first mainstream wave. She leads our hands-on companion reviews, digging into conversation quality, character memory, roleplay depth and how each app handles intimacy without breaking immersion. She previously reported on consumer software and online dating for independent tech press.

Theo Lindqvist
Senior Reviewer, Generative Media
Theo covers the visual and audio side of adult AI — image, video and voice generation. He benchmarks NSFW generators and companion simulators for output quality, prompt control, censorship and speed, and maintains our reproducible testing rig so comparisons stay fair across platforms and model updates.

Amara Okafor
Privacy & Safety Researcher
Amara scrutinizes the safety and privacy practices of every platform we list. She reads the privacy policies most people skip, tests data retention and account deletion, checks how discreet billing really is, and flags any tool that mishandles sensitive user data straight to our blacklist.
Why we exist
Between us we have spent years living inside AI companions, sexting bots, NSFW image and video generators, roleplay platforms and adult games. We started AI Girl Guides because the space was drowning in thin, affiliate-driven “top 10” lists written by people who had clearly never opened the products they were recommending.
Our promise is simple: we test with our own money, we say what we actually think, and we keep the commercial side of the business well away from the editorial side. A popular, high-paying tool that turns out to be mediocre gets called mediocre — and a lesser-known tool that’s genuinely excellent earns a top spot no matter what it pays.
How we test
The six things we check every time
Every tool runs the same gauntlet — conversation, media, privacy and value — through the same hands-on process. Here is what that looks like in practice.
We buy the plan you would buy
No free press accounts. We pay for the same paid tiers our readers pay for, out of our own budget, so we hit the exact limits, upsells and NSFW gates you do — and can honestly say whether a subscription is worth it.
We stress-test the conversation
For companion and roleplay apps we run long, deliberately varied sessions: does it remember what you told it an hour ago, hold character, match your tone, and follow through on the adult scenarios it advertises — or does it repeat, drift and refuse?
We benchmark the media
For image, video and voice generators we push a fixed prompt set through every platform and compare quality, control, speed, censorship and how much NSFW freedom you actually get. Same prompts everywhere means the results are comparable.
We read the fine print
We audit the privacy policy, data retention and deletion flow, how discreet the billing statement looks, and any history of breaches. A tool that mishandles intimate data loses points — or lands on our blacklist.
We price the whole thing
A brilliant app at a punishing price still gets marked down. We weigh tiers, free allowances, hidden costs and renewal traps so the score reflects what you truly get for the money, not the headline number.
We keep going back
These platforms change monthly. We re-test after major updates and move ratings when quality, pricing or privacy shifts. Every review is a living document with a date on it, not a one-off snapshot.
Editorial standards & disclosure
AI Girl Guides is reader-supported. Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you subscribe to a tool after clicking through. It never costs you a cent extra, and — this is the part that matters — it never buys a better review or a higher ranking.
No pay-for-ranking
We do not sell placements, positions or scores. A company cannot pay to climb a list, bury a competitor or have a negative point quietly deleted. Rankings are set by the testing team using the process above, and commercial and editorial decisions are kept separate.
Affiliate disclosure
Where an affiliate relationship exists, outbound links route through our redirect so we can track referrals. The full details are on our Disclaimer page, and our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy cover the rest.
Corrections
We get things wrong sometimes, and platforms move fast. Spot an inaccuracy — a price that changed, a feature that vanished, a privacy claim that no longer holds — and we’ll verify it and update the review promptly. Material corrections are made openly, and we re-test rather than editing on the quiet.
